Notes

Parents Mr and Mrs J Gameson, Trdegar, Monmouth.

In loving memory of Pte A Gameson, SWB, who was killed in action in France August 20th 1918 aged 31.

He stood at his post like a soldier brave,
He answered his country’s call;
He sleeps far away in a hero’s grave,
For a country’s call he did fall.

Ever remembered by his loving wife.

24 London Road, Chippenham.

Wilts Times 23 August 1919

Arthur Alexander Gameson was the oldest brother of my grandfather. He was born in Tredegar in December 1887 and married Ellen Davies in Hampshire in 1915. I do not know if they had children. Arthur is remembered on Tredegar's war memorial in Bedwellty Park.

Best wishes,

Susannah Gent
