Son of Percy and Elsie Gale, of Chippenham, Wiltshire; husband of Doris Olive Gale, of Chippenham.

Information has been received that L/Cpl Reginald Gale RASC of London Road, Chippenham has been killed in France. He was the only son of Mr and Mrs P Gale of Chippenham and was employed at the Condensary as a lorry driver before joining the Army.

Deceased served in the France with the BEF and was evacuated from the West coast after Dunkirk. He was married.

Wilts Times 8 July 1944

"On the night of the 7th/8th June there was a German Air Road over the location and a bomb fell amongst where the men were - your husband was killed outright"

It was planned to name a street at Pewsham, Gale Close after L/Cpl Gale before it was realised that there was already a Gales Close on Monkton Park.
